Safety and supervision – it’s top priority!
You will learn how to effectively supervise your class, reducing the risk of harm by preventing accidents and injuries as well as promoting positive, responsive and intentional learning environments for children. We discuss how to create safe classroom and outdoor spaces for different age groups and what teachers need to be doing at all times to insure that everyone is accounted for and secure. Print the Listening Sheet before you begin to take notes. Handouts include checklists for evaluating your classroom and playground and additional information about safety.
This course meets required pre-service training for new child care employees and must be taken before working with children. It also meets required annual training requirements for teachers and directors.
